- Silky Smooth & Moisturizing-Snail Mucin may contain small amounts of collagen. Collegen is a protein that provides structure and elasticity to skin cells. When applied as a topical agent to the skin, collagen aids as a hydrating and moisturizing agent (it doesn't absorb into the skin). Elastin may also be present in snail mucin. Elastin is a protein which may aid in skin elasticity and may help prevent skin wrinkles and fine lines, when used as part of a daily skin regimen.
