About the product

  • Cetearyl Alcohol & Distearoylethyl Hydroxyethylmonium Methosulfate (DHMC) is an alternative to (BTMS) Behentrimonium Methosulfate. DHMC is natural, conditioning emulsifier used in Hair, Face and Body Care, Conditioning, Hair Coloring, Self Tanning. DHMC - has conditioning and emulsifying properties making it an invaluable ingredient in hair products.
  • In cosmetic products the types of conditioning agents used are as follows: Emollients, usually Oils, Fats, Waxes or Silicones, which are hydrophobic molecules of natural or synthetic origin that coat the skin or hair and provide an occlusive surface that helps prevent further loss of moisture as well as providing slip and lubricity.
  • Due to its 100% vegetable-derived, 100% biodegradable formula, with no Ethylene Oxide, no Solvent and no Petrolatum. It has a high content of cationic surfactants (+70%) compared to most alternatives (22%). This means you can use less product to obtain excellent results.
  • DOSAGE: It is an effective conditioning agent even at small doses: 2-4%. Increase to up to 8% to use as an emulsifier. To regulate the consistency of your products combine it with cetearyl alcohol (0,5% up to 5%). The optimal melting temperature is 60C. It is most effective as a conditioning agent within a pH range of 3 to 5.
  • APPLICATIONS: Hair care products such as conditioners, 2-in-1 shampoos, hair masks and hair serums. Despite not being ethoxylated, it is still a perfect base for homemade hair dyes. It can also be used to make homemade fabric conditioners.
