The initial strong scent will eventually diffuse away, leaving only mild scent in the bar. The bar soap is covered with a protective herbal coating, so it may not lather well at first. After the herbal coating is used up on skin, the bar will produce a luxurious creamy lather (usually after a couple of applications).
