- Shikakai powder has been used for centuries as a natural hair cleanser. It promotes hair growth and root strength, and gently detangles. It is mild and has a natural low pH, which conditions hair to be soft and lustrous. It does not strip the hair of its natural oils, and its use has also been known to prevent dandruff.
